Largemouth Bass Tournament Exemption Permits
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission's Freshwater Fisheries Division issues
permits to bass clubs, which grant a temporary exemption
to bass size limits provided all bass are to be
live released.
Application for an exemption permit must be made at
least 90 (but no more than 455) days in advance of the
scheduled tournament dates.
All tournament participants must
waive their right to their daily bag limit of five bass
and agree to make a good faith effort to release all
fish alive after weigh-in. If possible, all dead fish
will be donated to a charitable organization.
The Commission's Freshwater Fisheries Division is
currently divided into five regions. Please choose Lake
Okeechobee or the appropriate region to determine which
office to contact. A list of the counties is contained
within the region section below. For Lake Weohyakapka
(Lake Walk In Water), Polk County and Lake Istokpoga,
Highlands County please contact the Lake Okeechobee
office.
